Russ Gavalis promoted to blue belt.

On June 28, 2016 two year student of ACC, Russ Gavalis, was promoted to blue belt.  Russ' hard work and dedication the past two years has paid off.  Congrate and looking forward to many more years of training with Russ.


Daniel Johns Granted Blue Belt

On Monday November 16, 2015, Daniel Johns was promoted to blue belt by lead instructor Professor Matt Melusky.  Daniel has been training with ACC for the past two years and has displayed the level of dedication and skill associated with this promotion.  We are all very proud of Daniel and look forward to many more years of training together. 

Brian Moran gets silver at NAGA!

On August 8, 2015 ACC youth member Brian Moran competed in the Battle at the Beach in Wildwood NJ.  The grappling event was sponsored by NAGA and drew a large amount of competitors and spectators.  Brian grappled his way to silver (2nd place) in the gi and no gi divisions.  We are all extremely proud of Brian who continues to improve his grappling skills. 

Promotions Granted!

On July 11, 2015 Jeff Walcott received his black belt from third degree black belt Professor Rogerio "Tatu" Taborda.  Jeff has trained in the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for the past 18 years.  He is the owner of Anthracite Combat Club which has been incorporated since 2006.  Jeff thanks all of his training partners both past and present, for his achievement would not have been possible if not for thier commitment and hard work on the mats.  He thanks all of you! 

In additon,  ACC Black Belt Matt Melusky was promoted to first degree black belt by Professor Rogerio "Tatu" Taborda.  Matt has now been teaching at ACC for the past two years and we look forward to many more years of instruction and getting dismantled by him on the mats.  Congrats to Matt. 

Mark Frew promoted to blue belt.

On June 11, 2015 Matt Melusky, Anthracite Combat Club BJJ Black Belt, tested ACC student Mark Frew for his blue belt.  Mark has been an ACC student for the past four years and has dedicated himself to the art of BJJ.  Mark is our most senior student at fifty-two years of age but all of his training partners will attest that this is just a number when it comes to Mark.  After a rigorous twenty-three minute roll with all of his training partners, Mark was awared his well earned Blue Belt.  Congrats to Mark and we look forward to many more years of hard training on the mats with Mark.
